Review

First off as I wrote in the disclaimer at the top of this page "I was sent a free copy of The Hardest Thing to Do (The Hawk and the Dove Series) by Penelope Wilcock in exchange only for my honest and unbiased review of The Hardest Thing to Do (The Hawk and the Dove Series) by Penelope Wilcock."

This is the first book by Penelope Wilcock that I have ever read. I have not read any of the previous book in the series so this review ill reflect that fact. I personally always recommend starting with book one. The Hardest Thing to Do (The Hawk and the Dove Series) by Penelope Wilcock is in fact book four in the Hawk and the Dove series.

The book begins with a list of all the members of the community of Alcuin's Abbey. All of the characters are mentioned at some point in the series, but not all of them are mentioned in The Hardest Thing to Do (The Hawk and the Dove Series) by Penelope Wilcock. I thought it was different that instead of having chapters the book is broken up by days the book is broken into a total of forty six days.

I honestly found the book rather confusing because I lacked the information that a reader would have if he or she had read the previous books. I did not like how slowly the book started the first couple of days happened rather slowly I feel that the book would have benefited from a time skip in a few places.

After I finished the book I was left feeling feeling slightly confused, hopeful, peaceful, and comforted. I really wish that I could have read the previous books first so that I would have understood more of the book, but I did enjoy reading this book. I liked the confrontation and the ending. I enjoyed the author's writing style, my only wish is that the book would have moved along a bit faster.

Would you read The Hardest Thing to Do (The Hawk and the Dove Series) by Penelope Wilcock?
